Now, here’s a take on traditional Hawaiian Hula with a “twist”! Here, three female geckos have used their ingenuity to put together a hula costume with what they can find just lying about.
On the Islands we eat a lot of seafood. Anyone who does is very familiar with that funny little plastic garnish that adds a bit of color to the packaged seafood. It looks kind of like a leaf but has that unmistakable green color and is cut in a jagged zigzag at one end. Perfect little hula skirt potential for a gecko! Well, they had no trouble here finding a few on the local luau banquet table!
Now for the top! The little wire “twister ties” you find that let us reseal a fresh bag of bread are what geckos find to be the perfect adjustable bra! It comes in many colors and one size can be “twisted” to fit all! So, the Twister Tie Hula is born! These three little gals are letting it all go!
Complete with sweet smelling flowers atop their tiny heads, they sway to the rhythm of the tropical beat. You can join in the fun when you bring this iconic gecko art by Tom Thordarson home and hang it on the wall.
